New Insights in English Language Education is a refereed journal of international scope devoted to disseminating cutting-edge studies that address the current issues in English language education. Each volume (two issues) contains research articles of either a quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods nature.
New Insights in English Language Education encourages submission of previously unpublished articles on topics of significance to individuals concerned with English language education. As a publication that represents a variety of cross-disciplinary interests, both theoretical and practical, the journal invites manuscripts on a wide range of topics, especially in the following areas:
Authors of the research are those who have made significant intellectual contributions to the research. In this regard, NIELE follows the guidance of attributing authorship by the COPE Authorship Guideline and the BSA Authorship Guideline
Adopting those guidelines, those listed as authors are:
Everyone who made a substantial direct academic contribution to at least two of these four main components: 1) Conception or design, 2) Data collection and processing, 3) Analysis and interpretation of the data, and 4) Writing substantial sections of the paper
Everyone who drafted the article or revised it critically for important intellectual content
Everyone who approved the final version of the article for publication
Everyone who can defend the paper as a whole (although not necessarily all the technical details)
Then, the person who has made the major contribution to the paper and/or taken the lead in writing is entitled to be the first author.
To support transparency, authors need to provide “author contribution statements” that explain how each author contributed to a piece of work. Please follow the CRediT “Contributor Roles Taxonomy” an open standard of 14 item terms that allows for a standardized description of each author’s individual contribution to a manuscript.
